Our Mission
At Hoops for Hunger we are dedicated to alleviating hunger and food insecurity in our community through initiatives and programs that get high school and university students involved in community service projects using basketball as the vehicle.
High schools and universities lie at the heart of the communities they serve. Basketball games are a place where we congregate, where people from every corner of town and all walks of life come together as one. When paired with giving to local food banks they become a win win for the community.
Hoops for Hunger does not have a salaried staff, or collect and distribute donations. We work with universities and high schools to create basketball events that raise money for local food banks. All donations go directly to the local food bank which then distributes it to the food pantry or kitchen in your community.
